About Me:

My love for pies was never a choice.

Ever since I was a kid, a pie for lunch on a day out has been the highlight of my day. Shoutout Dad.

There is so much more to a pie than what meats the eye. There are so many variables that contribute to a good pie, which means a good pie can only be made by a truly talented baker.

And when a pie truly ticks every box, the experience is life-changing.

In recent years, however, I found Auckland’s pie scene stagnating. Until one day I was given a pie from a random bakery I had never heard of: Richberry Cafe.

It was the best pie I had ever had.

I had to share it with my fellow Aucklanders, which gave birth to my first review.

Alongside pies, I also love writing, so ever since then, I have combined the two.

My goal with every review is the same: to convey the truest depiction of my experience of the pie, in hopes that people will get to experience the amazing pies Auckland has to offer (and so they know where to stay away from).

Pies are not a fancy food, and that’s the beauty of them. They are such a simple, humble food, yet they have so much to offer—including the never-ending discussion of where the best pie can be found.
